A recently published article in the BBC news highlighted the uncertainty of the UK’s electricity supply by stating that the UK “could face blackouts by 2016″.
Photovoltaic systems offer a dispersed generation solution to increasing demands upon the UK’s electricity grid. By generating electricity on site you cut down considerably on the transmission losses that are inevitable when transporting electricity from power plants, located far enough away from residential areas so that they are not an eye sore, and reduce the strain that is put on the mains from high urban demands.
